Wake the Garden

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

The short version. We do not collect your name, your email, or anything that identifies you or your child. There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking. Almost everything the game knows stays on the device it is played on.

What the game saves on the device

Two things, and both stay on the device:

Progress
Which gardens are finished, stars earned, diamonds, hints and bombs.
Settings
Sound, volume, reduce motion, and whether adverts are shown.

Deleting the app removes all of it. So does "Reset all progress" in Settings.

The weekly league

This is the one part of the game that sends anything anywhere, so it is worth being clear about.

When your child finishes a league garden, the game sends the score, a nickname it picked from its own fixed word list, and a random identifier the app invented for itself the first time it ran.

Your child never types a name. The nickname comes from our list, so there is nothing for anyone to write and nothing for us to moderate. The identifier is not a device ID or an advertising ID. It identifies one copy of the game and nothing else, and clearing the app's storage throws it away.

There are no profiles, no messages, and no way for players to reach each other. It is a list of nicknames and numbers.

Adverts

Adverts can be switched off at any time in Settings, and switching them off costs you nothing in the game.

While they are on, they come from Google AdMob and are not personalised. They are not based on your child's interests and are not used to build a profile of them. We have marked the app as made for children, which limits what Google is allowed to show. AdMob may use a device identifier to deliver an advert, count it, and detect fraud. Google explains its side at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Purchases

There are none. No in-app purchases, no subscriptions, nothing to buy. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

Children

This game is made for children, and it is built accordingly. No advertising that profiles a child. No links out of the play area. No social features. No way for a child to be contacted by anyone.

We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and Google Play's Families policy.

Your rights

We hold no account and no personal data, so there is nothing for us to look up, export, or delete on request. What the game knows is on your device and under your control.

If you want a league score removed, write to us and say roughly when it was set. Scores are anonymous, so we will need your help to find the right one.

If this policy changes

The date at the top changes with it, and anything that affects what leaves the device will be spelled out here before it ships.
